Bajrang Punia
Bajrang Punia - Star Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia touched a new high in his career by achieving the number one rank in the world in the 65kg category. The 24-year-old Bajrang, who has won five medals this season, including CWG and Asian Games gold and a silver at the World Championship, was placed atop the ranking table with 96 points in the United World Wrestling (UWW).


World War Memorial - The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the First World War Memorial constructed by the Government of India at the town of Villers Guislain in France.  Shri Naidu laid wreath and paid homage to the Indian soldiers who fought selflessly and heroically during World War 1 and made the supreme sacrifice. 


SIMBEX - The 25th edition of SIMBEX, “Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise” is scheduled to be held from November 10- 21, 2018 in the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The 2018 edition marks the silver jubilee of SIMBEX. 


Kolkata International Film Festival - The 24th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) began at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. It was jointly inaugurated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Soumitra Chatterjee and veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan.


New Projects in Varanasi - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate two important 34 Kilometers National Highways in Varanasi. The Prime Minister will also dedicate an inland waterways terminal on river Ganga in Varanasi to the nation. This is the first of the four multimodal terminals being constructed on River Ganga as part of the World Bank-aided Jal Marg Vikas project of the Inland Waterways Authority of India. 


All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy - The foundation stone for All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Goa would be laid on 13th November in North Goa. Two-day yoga conference would also be held in Panaji from 12th November. Delegates and experts from 50 countries are expected to participate in the conference.


K9 Vajra and M777 howitzers - The Army inducted new artillery guns and equipment, including K9 Vajra and M777 howitzers, at Deolali artillery centre in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The induction ceremony took place in the presence of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Army chief General Bipin Rawat. 


Digital Payments Increased - The number of digital payment transactions in India touched 244.81 crore in August 2018, more than three-fold rise from October 2016, underlining the massive adoption of digital payment modes over the last two years. New payment modes, BHIM-UPI, AePS and NETC have transformed digital payment ecosystem by increasing Person to Person (P2P) as well as Person to Merchant (P2M) payments.


Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities - Around 100 youth with disabilities from 18 countries are participating in the “Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities, 2018” in New Delhi. This three day event was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar.



Food and Agro Buyer-Seller Meet - Food and Agro Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Twenty-five Indian companies from food and agricultural products sector will be meeting the Saudi importers at the BSM.
