GSAT-29 Launched - The Indian Space Research Organisation launched the communication satellite GSAT-29 aboard ISRO’s heavy-lift rocket GSLV Mark-III. The launch took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The 3,423 kg GSAT-29 carries Ka and Ku band high throughput transponders intended to meet the communication requirements of users, including in the North East and in Jammu and Kashmir.

No-Confidence Motion Against Sri Lankan Prime Minister - Sri Lankan parliament passed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa who was made prime minister on October 26 in place of Ranil Wickremesinghe.

RBI Slapped Penalty on Banks - The Reserve Bank of India has slapped monetary penalty of Rs 3 crore each on Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Deutsche Bank AG for non-compliance with the directions issued by the central bank on Income Recognition and Asset Classification (IRAC) norms, Know Your Customer or Anti-money Laundering (KYC/AML) norms. 

Winter Session from 11 December - The Winter Session of Parliament will be held from 11th of December till the 8th of January. This was decided by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.

World Diabetes Day - World Diabetes Day is being observed on 14 November. The day is observed by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization. The theme for World Diabetes Day this year, as well as next year, is The Family and Diabetes. 

NGT Formed Committee for Delhi Pollution - National Green Tribunal formed a committee to stop activities that lead to degradation of the environment, taking note of pollution and traffic congestion in Delhi. The Committee will be headed by the Delhi Government's Urban Development Secretary. Justice SP Garg, former Delhi High Court judge, will also oversee the working of the committee.

Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit - UAE will participate in the 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit', as a partner country for the second consecutive year. Summit is scheduled to be held from January 18-20, 2019.

Shri Ramayana Express - Shri Ramayana Express, the first tourist circuit train on the theme of Ramayana, was flagged off from Safdarjung railway station in New Delhi. The pilgrimage circuit will have two travel components – one each in both countries, India and Sri Lanka. Major stoppages of Shri Ramayana Express are Ayodhya, Varanasi, Janakpur, Nasik, Chitrakoot, Hampi and Rameshwaram.

World’s First Underwater Hotel - Maldives has finally opened the world’s first underwater hotel, which is situated in the Indian Ocean. The hotel is situated 16 feet deep in the Indian Ocean and the cost is Rs 36 lakh per night.
