Maldives Approved to Rejoin Commonwealth - Maldives cabinet has approved the proposal to rejoin the Commonwealth, two years after withdrawing from the 53-nation grouping. The announcement was made by the nation’s newly inaugurated President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The country had left the Commonwealth during former President Abdulla Yameen's administration in October 2016, amid mounting pressure over corruption and deteriorating human rights.

APEC Summit - The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit was held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinean capital. This is the first time Papua New Guinea (PNG), the poorest of the 21 countries in APEC, has hosted the summit.

India and Russia Signed Defence Deal - India signed a $500 mn deal with Russia to locally manufacture two stealth frigates with technology transfer. The agreement was signed between Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) and Rosoboronexport of Russia. Work on the two frigates will start in two years by mid-2020 and is expected to be completed by 2026- 2027.

Vajra Prahar - The 12-day long joint exercise between the Indian Special Forces of the Sapta Shakti Command and troops of the US Pacific Command Special Forces known as 'Vajra Prahar' commenced in Rajasthan's Jaipur with the hoisting of national flags followed by playing of national anthems of both the countries.

Dan Wolman - Israeli filmmaker Dan Wolman was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural ceremony of the 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2018 in Goa. Israel is the Country of Focus for this year’s IFFI while the State in Focus is Jharkhand.

IMD World Talent Ranking 2018 - India slipped two positions to rank at 53rd position in a global survey ‘IMD World Talent Ranking 2018’ released by IMD Business School Switzerland on fostering and attracting talent. In 2017, India was ranked at 55th position. While Switzerland retained its top position for the fifth consecutive year on the list.

Odisha Proposed 33 Percent Reservation for Women - Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik introduced a resolution in the state legislative assembly proposing 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and legislative assemblies.

Army Chief Will Visit Vietnam - Army chief General Bipin Rawat is now headed for Hanoi, Vietnam soon after President Ram Nath Kovind concluded his Vietnam visit. Gen Rawat will hold talks with Vietnamese defence minister General Ngo Xuan Lich.

India will Develop Prototype One Kilogram - The government said it will develop a prototype of one kilogram in next three years that will be in sync with the new definition of kilogram, which is coming into effect from next May across the globe. The new scientific standard of kg will help in accurate measurement, which will immensely benefit sectors such as pharma and precious metals.

International Tourism Mart - The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and the North Eastern States is organizing the “International Tourism Mart” in Agartala, Tripura from the 22nd to 24th November 2018.

Trade Dispute Between India and USA - India’s trade dispute with America has reached to a next level in the World Trade Organization (WTO), as India asked the WTO to form a panel against the USA for imposing high import duties on aluminium and certain steel products. India decision to urge WTO to set up panel came after both countries failed to resolve the issue in a bilateral talk process under the WTO’s dispute settlement mechanism. Earlier US President Trump imposed the tariffs levying 25% on steel import and 10% on aluminium.

Jharkhand and World Bank Signed Loan Agreement - The Government of India, the Government of Jharkhand and the World Bank signed in New Delhi a $310 million Loan Agreement for Jharkhand Power System Improvement Project to provide reliable, quality, and affordable 24x7 electricity.

India and Japan Business Festival - Indo-Japan Business Council's Business Festival recently held in Pune. The Indo-Japan Business Council (IJBC), hosted KONNICHI WA PUNE - a first of its kind business festival in Pune. The festival was aimed to boost investment, promote businesses and cultural exchange between India and Japan.
Africa Industrialization Day - Africa Industrialization Day was observed on 20 November. The theme for AID 2018 is “Promoting Regional Value Chains in Africa: A pathway for accelerating Africa’s structural transformation, industrialization and pharmaceutical production”. 

Lakshya Sen - India’s top junior shuttler Lakshya Sen (17 years old) won bronze medal at Li Ning BWF World Junior Badminton Championships 2018 held at Markham, Canada.

First Specialized Hospital for Elephant - India's first specialized hospital for elephants has been opened in village, Mathura.
