NASA’s InSight explorer
InSight Landed on Mars - NASA’s InSight explorer successfully touched down on Mars on November 26, 2018, after an almost seven-month journey through deep space. InSight explorer is built by scientists in the United States, France and Germany. InSight stands for Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport. It has been designed to study the "inner space" of Mars: its crust, mantle, and core.

India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue - India and Russia agreed to increase cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain system, and explore the possibility of joint work in healthcare. The statement issued after the first India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue at St Petersburg. The dialogue was led by Niti Aayog vice chairman Rajiv Kumar and minister of economic development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin.

National Clean Air Programme - The Centre has fixed a target of reducing air pollution by 20-30% from the current level in 102 cities across the country by 2024. The target is part of the environment ministry’s National Clean Air Programme (NCAP). NCAP carrying details of specific time-bound actions and emergency measures such as graded response action plan (GRAP) on the basis of Air Quality Index (AQI).

NPCC Conferred Miniratna Company - The National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) was conferred with the status of Miniratna: Category –I by the Union Government. The empowerment of Miniratna Status to NPCC will help the company in taking speedy decisions by enhancing the delegation of powers to the Board.

Hausla 2018 - National Festival for Children of Child Care Institutions (CCIs)- “Hausla 2018” of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) was inaugurated in New Delhi. Festival is witnessing participation of more than 600 Children drawn from CCIs from 18 states in the various events like painting competition. The theme for the event is “Child Safety”.

Indian Organ Donation Day - ‘9th Indian Organ Donation Day’ was organized by the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) on 27 November in Delhi. The best performing State of Tamil Nadu was also felicitated. The State of Maharashtra received an award for being the best State for promoting awareness of organ donations.

Nagaland Launched Tourist Police - Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Tourist Police which will work for the safety and security of the tourists and report any crime against them to the nearest police station.

SEBI Guideline for Debt Financing - The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has laid down a framework to identify listed companies that need to meet one-fourth of their financing needs by way of debt securities and said any kind of shortfall or failure to raise debt financing will lead to monetary penalty. The framework would be applicable to all entities that have their securities listed on the exchanges, an outstanding long-term borrowing of Rs. 100 crore or more and a credit rating of AA and above.

Mohammed Aziz - Playback singer Mohammed Aziz passed away following a cardiac arrest. Aziz was part of the music industry for the past three decades. He did playback singing in Hindi, Bengali and Odia films, apart from several stage shows and concerts in India and abroad.

India Aid to Myanmar - India has extended a USD 5 million aid to Myanmar as its assistance for development projects on the Indo-Myanmar border. India and Myanmar signed a Memorandum of Understanding for border development in May 2012, under which India is to provide a total of USD 25 million to Myanmar, divided into five tranches of USD 5 million each.

Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme - Government did soft-launch of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) segment of the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) in seven states. The path-breaking initiative will provide near-real-time data to policymakers for detecting outbreaks, reducing the morbidity and mortality and lessening disease burden in the populations and better health systems.
