30 Satellite Launched by ISRO - The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on November 29, 2018 successfully launched a hyperspectral imaging satellite (HySIS), an earth observation satellite along with 30 foreign commercial satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The satellites were launched through Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C43). HysIS means Hyper Spectral Imaging Satellite. It is an earth observation satellite developed by ISRO. The foreign satellites launched along with HySIS include 1 Micro and 29 Nano satellites from 8 different countries. Out of the 30 commercial satellites, 23 are from the United States. These satellites have been commercially contracted for launch through Antrix Corporation Limited, the commercial arm of ISRO.

Saubhagya – ‘Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana’- RK Singh, Union Minister of State for Power and Renewable Energy announced that 8 States have achieved 100 percent saturation in household electrification under Saubhagya – ‘Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana’. With this, there are now total 15 States in the country that have 100 percent household electrification. With the present pace of electrification, India is expected to achieve 100 percent saturation in the country by December 31, 2018. However Government is committed to ensuring 24x7 access to electricity for all by 31st March next year.

EU will be Carbon Neutral by 2050 - The European Union urged government, businesses, citizens and regions to join it in an ambitious plan to cut emissions and make the bloc carbon neutral by 2050. If Europe retains its current targets it will only reduce net carbon emissions by 60 per cent by mid-century, not enough to meet the bloc's pledges under the 2015 Paris climate accord.

India and China Signed Protocol - India and China have signed a protocol on hygiene and inspection requirements for the exports. The protocol was signed in New Delhi during the visit of Chinese Vice Minister, General Administration of Customs of China. Signing of the protocol between the two countries paves the way for export of Indian fish oil and fish meal to China.

KONKAN Exercise - Naval exercise between India and the United Kingdom, KONKAN held in Goa this year. The Bilateral KONKAN exercise provides a platform for the two Navies to periodically exercise at sea and in harbour, so as to build interoperability and share best practices.

Hand in Hand Exercise - The militaries of China and India would hold 7th India and China joint military exercises - 'Hand in Hand' from December 10 in southwest China's Chengdu city to improve their capabilities in fighting terrorism and promote mutual understanding.

US President Scrapped Meeting With Russian President - US President Donald Trump scrapped a planned meeting at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over Moscow's detention of a group of Ukrainian sailors.

Maharashtra Passed Reservation Bill - The Maharashtra Assembly unanimously passed a legislation granting 16 per cent reservation to the Maratha community under the socially and educationally backward category. The 16 per cent reservation will take the number to 68 per cent. With the approval of the quota, reservations in the state have surpassed the 50 per cent ceiling set by the Supreme Court for state governments and the Centre.

Bhasha Sangam - The government launched a unique initiative called Bhasha Sangam to introduce school students to 22 Indian languages. Bhasha Sangam is a programme for schools and educational institutions to provide multilingual exposure to students in Indian languages. The initiative, under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, was launched on November 22 and will continue till December 21, 2018. 

Consortium of Academic and Research Ethics (CARE) - University Grants Commission, UGC has decided to set up a Consortium of Academic and Research Ethics (CARE) which will prepare a fresh list of credible quality journals in the non-science disciplines. CARE will be headed by the UGC Vice Chairman.

Brian Kwon - LG Electronics has announced that it has appointed Brian Kwon as the new president. Brian Kwon is head of LG's home entertainment business, from December 1.

Paul Polman - Anglo-Dutch consumer goods company Unilever said its CEO Paul Polman was retiring and would be replaced by the head of its beauty unit Alan Jope from January 1.
