PM KISAN Scheme
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate on February 24 the government scheme of giving Rs 6,000 annual financial assistance to farmers which was announced in the interim budget. The first installment of Rs 2,000 will be credited in farmers' accounts by the prime minister at the proposed Kisan Maha Adhiveshan in Gorakhpur. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, farmers cultivating up to two hectares (5 acres) will get direct cash support of Rs 6,000 annually, payable in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.

PM KISAN and Annadatha Sukhibhava Scheme - Andhra Pradesh merged PM KISAN scheme with Annadatha Sukhibhava. Now all farmers will get Rs 10,000 per annum. In Andhra Pradesh all those farmers who are eligible for Rs 6,000 per household under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi will also receive Rs 4,000 from the State Government. Andhra Pradesh became the first state to include all tenant farmers in an investment support scheme which promises a fixed sum of Rs 10,000 per annum to all farmers in the state, irrespective of the size of their land holding. They will receive two instalments of Rs 5,000 each ahead of Kharif and Rabi, a total sum of Rs 10,000.

Joint Venture For Assault Rifles - Government cleared joint venture with Russia for producing more than 7,50,000 units of AK-103 assault rifles, the third generation of AK-47. The Russian share in the JV as per the provisions of the Indian law is going to be 49.5% with the OFB share being the majority 50.5% of the registered capital.

Indo-US Commercial Dialogue - The Indo-US Commercial Dialogue and the Indo-US CEO Forum will be held on February 14, 2019 in New Delhi. The Indian side will be headed by Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation Minister, Suresh Prabhu, and the US side will be led by Mr. Wilbur Ross, US Commerce Secretary. The two Ministers will co-chair the India-US Commercial Dialogue.

Reservation For Gujjars - The Rajasthan government introduced a bill in the Assembly to give 5% quota in jobs and educational institutes for Gujjars and four other communities. The bill seeks to increase the backward classes’ reservation from the present 21% to 26% with 5% reservation for Gujjars, Banjaras, Gadia Lohars, Raikas and Gadaria. The government has also decided to increase the ceiling of creamy layer from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
