Eklavya Model Residential Schools - The Cabinet Committee has given its in-principle approval for setting up of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) in every block with more than 50 per cent ST population and at least 20,000 tribal persons. Cabinet Committee has approved a financial assistance worth Rs. 2242.03 crore during 2018-19 and 2019-20 for rolling out the revamped scheme. The schools are an excellent approach to cater to the educational needs of ST children.

Mr. Ansari was reportedly detained in 2012 by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies for illegally entering Pakistan from Afghanistan, reportedly to meet a girl he had befriended online, through a fake Pakistani identity card.

Plan To Create 50 Lakh Jobs - Government plans to introduce an ambitious industry-linked mega apprenticeship program for students of humanities and other non-technical courses. The three ministries including Human Resource Development, Skill Development and Labour have come together to impart training to undergraduates to increase their chances of getting employed across sectors. In the first phase beginning FY20, government targets to enroll 10 lakh students. By 2022, nearly 50 lakh students would be covered.

Loan Waiver in Assam - The Assam government has approved farm loan waiver to the tune of Rs 600 crore which will benefit around eight lakh farmers of the state. Government will write off 25 per cent loan of farmers up to a maximum of Rs 25,000 of all farm debts. The waiver will be for all the loans taken through Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and from PSU banks.
