RBI Announced Interim Surplus
RBI Announced Interim Surplus - Reserve Bank of India announced that it would transfer Rs 28,000 crore to the Centre as interim surplus for the half-year ended December 2018. This will take the Centre’s total receipts from the RBI as surplus transfer in 2018-19 to Rs 68,000 crore.  The central bank had earlier paid Rs 40,000 crore to the government as its final share of surplus for 2017-18. The RBI follows July-June accounting year.

Sterlite Copper Plant - In a victory to the Tamil Nadu government and protesters, the Supreme Court set aside the National Green Tribunal (NGT) decision to reopen the Sterlite copper plant at Thoothukudi. The plant had been ordered to be closed down by the Tamil Nadu government due to environmental pollution.

India and Morocco Signed MoU - India and Morocco signed four MoUs include setting up of Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism, Cooperation in Housing and Human Settlement, Reciprocal facilitation of procedures for issue of Business Visa and Cooperation in Youth Matters. Mrs Swaraj reached Rabat on her maiden visit to Morocco from Bulgaria yesterday. She is on a four-day three-nation tour to Bulgaria, Morocco and Spain.

RBI Guidelines on FPI - The Reserve Bank of India withdrew the 20% limit on investments by FPIs in corporate bonds of an entity with a view to encourage more foreign investments. As part of the review of the FPI investment in corporate debt undertaken in April 2018, it was stipulated that no FPI should have an exposure of more than 20% of its corporate bond portfolio to a single corporate.
