Sexual Harassment Case Against CJI - A three-member committee of Supreme Court judges led by Justice S.A. Bobde, the No. 2 judge in the apex court, was formed on April 23 to look into allegations of sexual harassment raised by a former employee against Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. The other two members of the committee are Justice N.V. Ramana and Justice Indira Banerjee.

HDFC Will Acquire Stake in Bandhan Bank
HDFC Will Acquire Stake in Bandhan Bank - Reserve Bank of India has given its nod to HDFC Ltd for acquiring up to 9.9 per cent stake in Bandhan Bank following the Gruh Finance deal. Gruh Finance, the affordable housing finance arm of HDFC Ltd, was taken over by Bandhan Bank in a share-swap deal in January. The scheme remains subject to approvals from the National Company Law Tribunal and the respective shareholders of Gruh Finance and Bandhan Bank. The Gruh Finance deal will reduce stake of Bandhan Financial Holdings Ltd in Bandhan Bank to about 61 per cent from the current 82 per cent.

Navjot Singh Sidhu - The Election Commission banned Congress leader and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu from election campaign for 72 hours for violating Model Code of Conduct. The ban will be effective from 10 AM on April 23, 2019. Earlier the Commission issued notice to Sidhu for seeking votes on religion lines at a rally in Katihar district of Bihar.

BSE and Network Intelligence Signed MoU - BSE has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Network Intelligence, to provide cybersecurity services to its members in line with the cybersecurity framework set by SEBI. Network Intelligence will be using its own developed platform BlueScope to offer 24x7 cybersecurity operations to the members.

Ministry of AYUSH Signed MoU With CSIR - The Ministry of AYUSH inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for cooperation in research and education in areas of traditional systems of medicine and its integration with modern science. Earlier, CSIR and Ayush Ministry jointly developed the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL) which prevents bio-piracy and misappropriation of traditional knowledge.

World number one Bajrang Punia logged 10 points in a row in the gold medal bout to reclaim his Asian Championship crown. He defeated  Kazakhstan's Sayatbek Okassov in 65kg men's freestyle final. Another Indian Parveen Rana won silver medal. Satywart Kadian picked a  bronze medal.

ATP Masters - Fabio Fognini became the first Italian to win an ATP Masters 1000 title at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. He defeated Dusan Lajovic. The Italian defeated World No. 3 Alexander Zverev to reach the quarter-finals and stunned 11-time champion Rafael Nadal in the last four.
