He will be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day Parade. Mr. Ramaphosa is the second President of South Africa after President Nelson Mandela to be the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade.

ICC Emerging Player Of The Year - Rishabh Pant was named the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Emerging Player Of The Year following an impressive show in India's first-ever Test series win in Australia. With an unbeaten 159-run knock in the 4th Test in Sydney, Rishabh Pant became the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a Test century in Australia.

Mohammed Shami - Mohammed Shami became the fastest Indian bowler to claim 100 ODI wickets, during the first one-dayer against New Zealand at Napier. Shami reached the milestone in his 56th match. The Indian record was previously held by Irfan Pathan, who got there in his 59th match. The world record is currently held by Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who needed only 44 games to reach the mark.

ISRO Launced Military Satellite - The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched PSLV C-44 (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) to space which injected a 740kg imaging satellite for military applications into orbit with precision before going to demonstrate a new technology that can eventually reduce space debris. PSLV C-44 lifted off with Microsat R, a military application satellite, and Kalamsat, a 10cm cubesat made by students from the first launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

NGARM Missile Tested - India has tested a new indigenous air-launched missile called NGARM, which is designed to destroy a variety of surveillance and radar targets on the ground after being fired from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter at Balasore, Odisha. This new-generation anti-radiation missile (NGARM), with a strike range of around 100-km, is the first indigenous air-to-ground missile to be developed by the DRDO.

Institute for Ethics in Artificial intelligence - Social media giant Facebook announced that it will create an independent Institute for Ethics in Artificial intelligence (AI) with an initial investment of $7.5 million over a period of five years. Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany will collaborate with this project which aims to explore fundamental issues affecting the use and impact of AI.

CBI Filed Case in ICICI Loan Case - Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR regarding the alleged irregularities in the Rs 3,250 crore loan case by ICICI Bank to Videocon. The CBI had in 2018 registered a preliminary enquiry against Videocon promoter Venugopal Dhoot and Deepak Kochhar. Since then, ICICI Bank has also initiated an internal enquiry under former Supreme Court judge BN Srikrishna. Earlier, ICICI bank CEO Chanda Kochhar resigned from her post in October 2018.

The contract finalised by RailTel has come into effect from January 1. The advanced LTE/voLTE 4G mobile connections for railway CUG contract is for a three-year period till November 2021 for 3.78 lakh users across the entire railway network.
