Bohemian Rhapsody - 'Bohemian Rhapsody', nominated for five Oscars, won the most Oscars at the award show. It bagged Oscars for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing and Best Actor. It is a biographical film about British rock band Queen's lead singer ‘Freddie Mercury’.

National War Memorial - Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the National War Memorial to the nation in New Delhi. The National War Memorial, located near the India Gate in New Delhi. The Memorial commemorates about 26 thousand soldiers post-independence who participated and made the supreme sacrifice in Peace Keeping Missions, and Counter Insurgency Operations. The complex includes a central obelisk, an eternal flame and six bronze murals depicting famous battles fought by Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. Busts of the 21 awardees of Param Veer Chakra have been installed at Param Yoddha Sthal.

Privatisation of Airports - In the latest round of Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) airport privatisation programme Ahmedabad-based Adani Group on Monday was named the winning bidder for all the five airports for which the bids were made public. These include airports at Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mangaluru, Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram which are all run by AAI now and will undergo ownership change in 90 days.

Apart from the 2 countries, 7 countries who participated in the exercise were India, Singapore, Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea. India participated in this exercise for the first time in the ‘Observer Plus’ category in 2016 alongside China.

Women’s Livelihood Bonds - World Bank, United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) launched new social impact bonds exclusively for women, called Women’s Livelihood Bonds (WLBs), with an initial corpus of Rs 300 crore. It will enable individual women entrepreneurs in sectors like food processing, agriculture, services, and small units to borrow around Rs 50,000 to Rs 3 lakh at an annual interest rate of around 13% to 14% or less and have a tenure of 5 years. They will be unsecured, unlisted bonds and offer a fixed coupon rate of 3% per annum to bond investors.

Benchmark For Lending Rate - Most commercial banks in India are likely to select RBI’s repo rate as the external benchmark to decide their lending rates, from April 1. RBI had asked the banks to move to an external benchmark for loan pricing from April 1, a move expected to improve monetary transmission as lenders had, in the past, been found reluctant to reduce lending rate. Banks had four options from which to choose the external benchmark: the repo rate, the 91-day treasury bill, the 182-day T-bill or any other benchmark interest rate produced by the Financial Benchmarks India Private Ltd (FBIL).

Norms For e-wallet - In a relief to e-wallet companies, the Reserve Bank of India extended by six months the deadline for compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, for prepaid payment instrument (PPI) issuers. The earlier deadline was February 28. PPIs are instruments that facilitate purchase of goods and services, including financial services and remittance facilities, against the value stored on such instruments.

FDI in equity from Singapore jumped 41% in the April-December period to almost $13 billion, while that from Mauritius dropped 55% from a year before to just $6 billion.

Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index - Spain and Italy have grabbed the two top spots in the list of the healthiest countries in the world. In South Asia, Sri Lanka at 66, Bangladesh at 91 and Nepal at 110 continued to rank well above India, out of the 169 countries. India slipped from 119 in the 2017 ranking to 120. This was according to the 2019 edition of the Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index which ranked 169 economies according to factors that contribute to overall health including traditional measures such as mortality by communicable and non-communicable diseases and life expectancy.

RTGS Dollar - Zimbabwe started to trade its new currency, the RTGS dollar, two days after the central bank announced measures to try and resolve a chronic monetary crisis. The new currency replaces electronic bank savings called digital dollars and the bond notes and was named after the real-time gross settlement system that banks use to transfer money between each other.
