Trilateral Meeting of India, Japan and US - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met for their first trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit to discuss major issues of global and multilateral interests. Modi said, "The 'JAI' (Japan, America, India) meeting is dedicated to democratic values ...'JAI' stands for victory (in Hindi)." The trilateral meeting took place at a time when China is engaged in hotly contested territorial disputes in the South China Sea, and with Japan in the East China Sea.

BRICS Informal Meeting - Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the BRICS leaders’ informal meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Argentina’s Buenos Aires. The prime minister also underlined that BRICS nations have to talk in one voice for the interest of developing nations in the United Nations and other multilateral organisations.

Meeting of Indian Prime Ministers and Chinese President - China was looking to boost agricultural exports to India while increasing imports of rapeseed and soymeal from the country, President Xi Jinping told Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of a G20 meeting. China's Xi also indicated greater trade in the pharmaceuticals sector between the two nations.

Meeting of Indian Prime Ministers and Saudi Arabia Prince - Saudi Arabia has offered India to supply oil and petroleum products it needs to meet its growing energy demands during a meeting between Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders met at Salman's residence in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires on the sidelines of the G-20 summit.

Abhinav Bindra - Ace Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra who is still India's only individual Olympic gold medallist was awarded the coveted International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Blue Cross. The Blue Cross is the highest recognition conferred by the parent body of international shooting, the ISSF. Bindra is the first Indian to be awarded the Blue Cross.

Asia Pacific Screen Award - Asia Pacific Screen Award (APSA) 2018 for Best Performance by an Actor (Male) went to Nawazuddin Siddiqui for Manto. Nandita Das, director of the movie herself received the prestigious International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) Award for achievement in film in the Asia Pacific region. The 12th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) were given in Brisbane, Australia. 

Cope India Exercise - The air forces of the United States and India are scheduled to participate in a 12-day- long joint exercise 'Cope India 2019' in Panagarh airbase, West Bengal. It showcases efforts and commitment of the two nations to build a free and open Indo-Pacific region. The Cope India exercise is being held after a gap of eight years.

GDP Growth Data Released - GDP growth slowed in the second quarter (July-September) of this financial year to 7.1% from 8.2% in the previous quarter. This, however, is still higher than China’s economic growth of 6.5% during the same quarter. The slowdown in the second quarter is due to the impact of rising oil prices on input costs, and also due to the effect of the rupee devaluation.


SEBI Increased Commodity Trading Time - SEBI has decided to increase the trading time in the commodity segment by an hour to deepen the commodity derivatives market as well as enhance the participation of stakeholders. For non agricultural commodities, the revised timings will be from 9 am to 11.55 pm, while for agricultural and agri-processed commodities, the trading hours will be from 9 am to 9 pm.

Sushma Swaraj Will Visit UAE - Smt. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister of India would be leading a delegation of senior officials to the United Arab Emirates from 03-04 December, 2018 for co-chairing the 12th session of the India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting for Economic and Technical Cooperation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the UAE.


Revised Data of GDP Released - Union Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MOSPI) released the revised Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data for the years 2004-2005 to 2010-2011. Modifying the data of past years using 2011-12 as the base year instead of 2004-05, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) lowered the GDP growth rate under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government from 10.3 percent in financial year 2010-11 to 8.5 percent. The new numbers show that India's economic growth rate for 2005-06 to 2011-12 averaged at 6.7 percent. The previous numbers had put the average growth rate during the UPA rule at 7.75 percent.


Free Mobile for Farmers - Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced that the government will provide free mobile phones to 28 lakh farmers and a separate electric feeder for them for agriculture purpose by 2019/2021. The information was shared by the Chief Minister while speaking at the inaugural function of the two-day Agriculture and Food Summit in Ranchi. 


Conference of Health - NITI Aayog organised a conference on "Health Systems for A New India: Building Blocks" in New Delhi. The conference featured senior government functionaries and eminent national and international experts in the healthcare space. 
Kimberley Process Certification Scheme - The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) Plenary 2018, was held in Brussels, Belgium. EU handed over the Chairmanship of KPCS to India from 1st January 2019. This year was the fifteenth anniversary of KPCS. The next Intersessional session is slated to be held in India as Chair. Botswana and the Russian Federation will serve as Vice-Chair during the period of 2019-2020.

International Ambedkar Conclave - The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the 2nd International Ambedkar Conclave in New Delhi as part of the commemoration of Constitution Day. The Conclave is being organized by the Forum of SC and ST Legislators and Parliamentarians and the Dr. Ambedkar Chamber of Commerce.

Mekedatu Drinking Water Project - The Tamil Nadu government moved the Supreme Court to stay the operation of the permission given by central government to the Karnataka government to go ahead with preparation of a detailed project report for Mekedatu balancing reservoir cum drinking water project across the inter-state Cauvery river.
